2. “Secret”
Let me let you in on a little secret: EVERYONE loves secrets! We all love the idea of getting access to exclusive or little-known information. Sharing “secrets” rather than “tips” builds value and produces more conversions.
3. “Proven”
There approximately 5 bajillion tips, suggestions, and ideas on the interwebs. When people read these ideas and what-if’s, they keep scrolling, because they don’t have the time to try something out. But “proven” is one of those words that convert because it instinctively implies less hassle, less experimentation. Hey, if it’s proven, then you can’t go wrong!
4. “Now”
When used in a call to action, “now” is an urgency builder. If you’ve ever done any fishing, you might be familiar with a little trick used to motivate that big bass to strike. As he stares at your lure, try flicking your rod to jerk the lure a few inches away from him. Suddenly, he sees it as a limited-time offer, and he strikes! That’s what “now” is.
5. “Imagine”
If you’re a decent copywriter, you can use tons of colorful adjectives to paint a word picture in the mind of your reader. But if you’re an amazing copywriter, you can use “imagine” to make your reader instantly begin creating mental pictures for themselves.
6. “Value”
Don’t talk about the features or process. Talk about “value.” Trigger in the mind of your reader the message that their lives will be tangibly better by acting on your offer.
7. “Instant”
This goes back to your reader not having a lot of time to experiment. Don’t just offer them results. If possible, offer them “instant” results. This can be as complicated as describing your product or as simple as describing the free download they get for opting into your email offer.
8. “Do”
Yoda once said, “Do or do not. There is no try.” Be positive and confident. Tell your reader what you will do for them, not just try. This verbal self-confidence will translate into more conversions.
9. “Or”
This one is so simply, yet so effective. People like making choices. So rather than give them the choice of saying yes or no, give them a choice between saying yes to Option A or saying yes to Option B.
10. “Easy”
Your headline or blog post should make the lives of your readers easier in some way or another. Tell them that. Your readers are already familiar with plenty of difficult or complicated solutions. Give them an “easy” one.
